Recap: Buena Colts vs. Douglas Bulldogs
The Buena Colts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Douglas 76-49 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Buena has managed all season.
Leading Buena to victory were Jamin Booker and Jesus Pacheco. Booker scored 20 points along with eight rebounds, while Pacheco scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Pacheco scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mason Gordon, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Douglas still got an impressive performance from Luis Trahin-Quijada, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jassiel Maldonado, who scored ten points.
Buena's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Douglas, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buena will stay at home for another game and welcome Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Mountain View is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.9 points per game. Douglas won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tombstone at 4:40 p.m. on December 14th. Tombstone is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
