Baseball Game Preview: Franklin County Wildcats vs. Lawrenceburg Tigers

The Franklin County Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Lawrenceburg Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Lawrenceburg will come in with three straight wins.

Things were looking good for Franklin County after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Lawrenceburg, falling 14-3.

For Lawrenceburg's part, they got a great performance from Caden McCool as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, McCool posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups.

At the plate, Jensen Mulcahey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Lewis, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lawrenceburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lawrenceburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
