Basketball Game Preview: River View Black Bears vs. Morgan Raiders

River View hasn't had much luck against Morgan recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The River View Black Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Morgan Raiders at 12:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, River View ended up a good deal behind West Muskingum and lost 44-30. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 263rd).

Meanwhile, Morgan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 37-32 to Maysville. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morgan now has a losing record at 5-6. As for River View, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

River View lost to Morgan on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Morgan's Myleigh Williams, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 13 boards, and ten steals. Now that River View knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
