Jefferson proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Plant Panthers. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Kaleb Cherry made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cherry wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaylen Watts, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Jefferson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plant struck out six times.

Jefferson's record now sits at 10-2. As for Plant, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Jefferson will be taking part in a tournament against East Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Plant, they will take on Gaither in a tournament on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.7, the Cowboys 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
