Basketball Game Preview: Glenbard East Rams vs. Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs

The Glenbard East Rams just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, Glenbard East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to South Elgin.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 55-51 to West Chicago. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 199th).

Glenbard East's loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-10. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Glenbard East came up short against Riverside-Brookfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, falling 39-34. Can Glenbard East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
