Basketball Recap: Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Trinity Mitchell and Alayna Begaye

Valley was the 45-37 winner over Many Farms when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Valley Pirates took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Many Farms Lobos. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Alayna Begaye and Trinity Mitchell. Begaye went 7 for 16 en route to 19 points and three steals, while Mitchell posted five points and four steals. That's the most steals Mitchell has posted since back in December of 2024.

Many Farms' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jillian Begay led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelene Harvey, who scored nine points.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Many Farms, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 19-10.

As of now, neither Valley nor Many Farms have any future games scheduled.
