League recap: Daniel extends winning streak with victory over Seneca

Daniel extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region I this week by beating Seneca, 35-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Lions.

Wren took down Palmetto 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jacob Clary threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 25 yards in the win.

Belton-Honea Path's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Williams threw for 329 and three touchdowns and Keinan Lewis had 168 yards receiving. On the ground Korey Thompson chipped in 167 yards. Kijafa Martin helped Belton-Honea Path's passing attack out by catching three balls for 66 yards.

6-foot-2 quarterback Clary of the Hurricanes is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2056. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, the Bears' Thompson has rushed for 1248 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dorian Raines. The Seneca star has 72 catches for 1413 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Woodruff, Williams is short just 82 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Williams has thrown for 1918 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Wren led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Mustangs. Clary in the win.
