Basketball Recap: Harding Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Denim Bernal and Clifton Jones Jr.

Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 77-62 fall against the Fitch Falcons. If the Presidents were looking for revenge after losing 74-63 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Harding had strong showings from Clifton Jones Jr., who went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points and six boards, and Denim Bernal, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Bernal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Shamir Smith was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Si?Kis Reels continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fitch, going 12 of 17 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Reels is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Sabb, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Fitch, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Harding wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-54 loss against Immaculate on the 27th. Fitch has also already played their next contest, a 67-36 defeat against New London on the 29th.
