River Falls is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Altoona an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for River Falls, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Marshfield beat Menomonie 2-0 on Tuesday.

River Falls' win bumped their record up to 9-6-2. As for Marshfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11-3.

River Falls beat Marshfield by a goal in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
