Preview: Teague Lions vs. Westwood Panthers

The Teague Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Westwood Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Teague scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Fairfield by a score of 75-62. The win made it back-to-back wins for Teague.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Teague to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Leija, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leija has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jehmel Rice, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Westwood had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-59 victory over Fairfield. Given Westwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Fairfield is ranked 952nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Teague's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Westwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Teague suffered a grim 72-50 defeat to Westwood when the teams last played back in January. Can Teague avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
