Softball Recap: Travelers Rest Comes Up Short

Travelers Rest fell victim to Wade Hampton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wade Hampton Generals, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Devildogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Travelers Rest now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wade Hampton, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Travelers Rest will head out to square off against Blue Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Blue Ridge knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Travelers Rest likes a good challenge. As for Wade Hampton, they will be taking part in a tournament against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
