Preview: East Thunderbirds vs. Laramie Plainsmen
East has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Laramie Plainsmen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, East beat Scottsbluff 42-37. Given East's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Wyoming, while Scottsbluff is ranked 93rd in Nebraska), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Laramie waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Rawlins 56-38.
Laramie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Forry out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Morgan Moore, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Laramie, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
East was able to grind out a solid win over Laramie in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 58-46. Does East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Laramie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
