Softball Recap: Churchland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Norview two weeks ago, Churchland came back down to earth. The Truckers lost 12-4 to the Granby Comets on Tuesday. The Truckers have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Jestice Hill was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Pharoah Doxie, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Churchland's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-6. As for Granby, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Churchland is set to challenge their familiar foe Norcom at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Granby will square off against rival Norview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
