Baseball Recap: Kankakee Find Success

Kankakee won against Bloom last Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Kays never let the Thornridge Falcons get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Kays in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won nine in a row.

Jacob Vinardi looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Noah Hileman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Stipp, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Kankakee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kankakee's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Thornridge, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kankakee beat the Falcons by a score of 8-0 later that day.
