Football Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Oviedo Lions

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will take on the Oviedo Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Ponte Vedra 7.4, Oviedo 2.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Ponte Vedra heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bartram Trail. The Sharks' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Oviedo strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 20-12 victory over Lake Howell. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Silverhawks are ranked 89th).

Ponte Vedra's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Oviedo, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
