Baseball Recap: Rock Canyon's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Rock Canyon had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Legend Titans with a sharp 13-5 win on Friday. The Jaguars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 11-1).

Rock Canyon got a big performance out of Grant Carmann, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Carmann a new career-high. Jack Banion was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Rock Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rock Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Legend, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Rock Canyon will square off against Rocky Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lobos will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Legend, they will challenge Castle View at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sabercats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
