Softball Recap: Nansemond River Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Nansemond River's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Hickory Hawks on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since April 24th.

This is the second loss in a row for Nansemond River and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Hickory, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Nansemond River will take on rival Western Branch at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hickory is set to face off against their familiar foe Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 1.3, the Grizzlies 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
