Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Patriots vs. Ridgevue Warhawks

The Centennial Patriots will take on the Ridgevue Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Centennial has three straight victories, Ridgevue has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Centennial was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View, taking the game 71-63.

It was another big night for Gabe Eddins, who went 11-for-18 on his way to 31 points and seven boards. The game was his fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Payton Knudson, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Ridgevue came up short against Eagle on Tuesday and fell 63-55. While the Warhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 18-9 in the first quarter.

Centennial will need to focus on slowing down Kaimana Nielson, one of several Ridgevue players who made an impact when they last played. He put up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javonte Boles, who earned 13 points.

Centennial pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Ridgevue, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Centennial hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 69.4 points per game. However, it's not like Ridgevue struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
