Softball Recap: LaPoynor Gets the Win

After only two runs in their last matchup, LaPoynor made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mildred on Tuesday. The Flyers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 12-7. Considering the Flyers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Hadley Rhodes was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-5. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emma Crye, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Rhodes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

LaPoynor's record is now 11-9. As for Mildred, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

LaPoynor will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
