Football Recap: Benson Does not Make It Easy on Omaha Northwest's Passing Game

Omaha Northwest came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Benson, but Nee Moo wouldn't allow it. The Bunnies blew past the Huskies 28-0 on Friday thanks in part to Moo, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only eight carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Benson's defense and their six sacks. Cristobal Hernandez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. D'Onta Settles-Shelly got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Omaha Northwest lost, don't look at King Chatman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 118 yards on only 13 carries.

The win got Benson back to even at 2-2. As for Omaha Northwest, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Benson and Omaha Northwest will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bunnies will face off against rival Lincoln High on Friday. Meanwhile, Omaha Northwest is set to challenge their familiar foe Bellevue East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
