Soccer Recap: Santee Takes a Loss

Santee's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Jefferson Democrats by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Democrats are ranked 339th).

Santee's goal came courtesy of Oscar Samuel Cruz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Santee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Santee and Diego Rivera will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 4:15 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Santee's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Jefferson, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bernstein at 1:50 p.m. on December 26th.
