Baseball Game Preview: Lima Senior Spartans vs. Southview Cougars

Lima Senior is 0-5 against Southview since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Spartans will host the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Lima Senior after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 10-4 to Fostoria. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Riley Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Phillips, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Southview fell victim to Findlay and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 11-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lima Senior now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Southview, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
