Softball Recap: Chestatee War Eagles vs. Central Gwinnett Black Knights
Chestatee had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Central Gwinnett Black Knights by a score of 15-14. The War Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Savannah Petty and Kaylin Thome did some serious damage despite the final result: Petty got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and four RBI, while Thome went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI.
