Softball Recap: Barron Collier Wins Going Away Against Lely

Barron Collier got themselves on the board against Lely on Friday, but Lely never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over the Lely Trojans. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Leena Forbes looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianna Frino, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Frino is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Sheila Forbes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Barron Collier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
