Basketball Recap: Morrill's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Morrill waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over the Crawford Rams. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly seven points.

Morrill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katelyn Walker led the charge by going 6 for 11 en route to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Carrizales, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points.

Crawford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sage Dyer, who posted eight points and eight boards. Dyer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elianah Summers, who had four points and five boards.

Morrill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Crawford, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Morrill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-35 win against Edgemont on the 25th. Crawford has also already played their next match, a 39-26 defeat against Hay Springs on the 25th.
