Baseball Recap: Simeon Drops Season-High Score on Bulls College Prep

It's playoff time, and Simeon had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulls College Prep Bulls a 24-0 shutout on Saturday. The Wolverines' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Michael Ware made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cavion Danley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Simeon is 10-0-1 when Danley posts two or more runs, but 8-12 otherwise. Antwan Jackson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Simeon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Simeon has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Bulls College Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
