Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Comets vs. Wabash Apaches

The Eastern Comets will challenge the Wabash Apaches at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Eastern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Rochester 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Comets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Wabash sidestepped Oak Hill for a 4-3 victory.

Samuel Harris was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Wabash, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

Eastern was able to grind out a solid win over Wabash when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 6-2. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Apaches have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
