Baseball Recap: Clayton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Clayton came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Salem Rams 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Clippers: when they faced off against the Rams back in April, they had to take a 9-6 defeat.

Christian Thibault made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Thibault wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Emerle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Jackson Petsch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Clayton's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Clayton will take on Paulsboro at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they are taking a road trip to face off against Schalick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
