Basketball Recap: Lake Shore Falls Despite Big Games from Steven Likins and Jason Pruitt Ii

Lake Shore lost against St. Clair on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lake Shore Shorians fell just short of the St. Clair Saints by a score of 54-51. While losing is never fun, the Shorians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Saints are ranked 95th).

Despite the defeat, Lake Shore had strong showings from Jason Pruitt Ii, who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points and five boards, and Steven Likins, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points. The game was Pruitt Ii's third in a row with at least ten points. Max Minor was another key player, putting up six points.

Lake Shore's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-6. As for St. Clair, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Lake Shore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-49 victory against Lakeview on the 29th. As for St. Clair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-50 defeat against Port Huron on the 29th.
