Mikayla Sierra commands the offense for Panthers win

Recap: Menaul Panthers vs. Pine Hill Warriors

The Menaul Panthers entered their tilt with the Pine Hill Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Menaul came out on top against Pine Hill by a score of 42-34 on Thursday.

Menaul's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikayla Sierra, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Sierra hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mia Langeler, who scored nine points along with four steals.

Pine Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Virances Martinez and Leilani Charley. Martinez scored ten points along with six rebounds, while Charley scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Natan, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, Pine Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Menaul now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pine Hill, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Menaul's road trip will continue as they head out to face Zuni at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Zuni is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Pine Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
