Addyson Irving spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Glenn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Hardin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Atkins put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Dudley. Everything went Atkins' way against Dudley as Atkins made off with a 19-0 victory. The Camels have beaten the Panthers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.
Aniston Pennington made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Pennington was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ava Fleming was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alejandra Scruggs, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Atkins always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Atkins pushed their record up to 1-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.6 runs. As for Glenn, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Atkins' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glenn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Atkins, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Glenn's hitters?
Glenn was able to grind out a solid victory over Atkins in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 11-6. Does Glenn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Atkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
