Basketball Game Preview: UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs vs. St. Paul's Episcopal Saints

The UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the St. Paul's Episcopal Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. UMS-Wright Prep will be strutting in after a victory while St. Paul's Episcopal will be coming in after a defeat.

UMS-Wright Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Orange Beach by a score of 39-32. The 39-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, St. Paul's Episcopal entered their match against Bayside Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. St. Paul's Episcopal was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Bayside Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Saints came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Admirals are ranked 211th).

UMS-Wright Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

UMS-Wright Prep came up short against St. Paul's Episcopal in their previous matchup back in January, falling 57-53. Can UMS-Wright Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
