Basketball Recap: Downtown Doral Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Downtown Doral Dolphins came up short against the Reagan Bison and fell 75-64. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Bison are ranked 114th).

Despite the loss, Downtown Doral still got an impressive performance from Giancarlo Romero, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Samuel Salas was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Reagan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Bravo, who posted 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bravo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Downtown Doral and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Reagan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Downtown Doral will venture away from home to challenge Belen Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. Reagan has already played their next game (against Dade Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
