Basketball Recap: Washington Skates Past Randolph-Macon Academy with Ease

On Monday, the Washington Patriots were fully in charge, breezing past the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets 75-40. With the Patriots ahead 41-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dj Boardley out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Boardley also put up a block, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jasiah King, who posted nine points and eight assists.

Washington was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph-Macon Academy only racked up ten assists.

Despite the loss, Randolph-Macon Academy still got an impressive performance from Noah Negussie, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points. Negussie continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Kirabo, who put up 12 points and four steals.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 10-1 record.

Washington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-48 win against Musselman on the 28th. Randolph-Macon Academy has also already played their next game, a 55-32 victory against Veritas School on the 28th.
