Basketball Recap: Brighton Takes a Loss

Brighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Dyer County Choctaws 69-22. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Karmen Bell was Brighton's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Khaylin Vispo held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Paityn Meacham took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dyer County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Brighton is taking a road trip to square off against St. Mary's Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dyer County, they will be playing at home against Trezevant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
