Baseball Game Preview: East Leopards vs. Jordan Beetdiggers

East hasn't had much luck against Jordan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leopards will take on the Beetdiggers at 4:00 p.m. East has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alta hit East with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Leopards lost 11-4 to the Hawks. The Leopards just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Lunt, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Dylan Treend also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Jordan has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell just short of Brighton by a score of 10-9. The Beetdiggers haven't had much luck with the Bengals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

KODY KEMP and JAYDEN MONTOYA stepped up to the plate in a big way. KEMP got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while MONTOYA went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jordan is 6-1 when KEMP posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. CJ SUMNER was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

East suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Jordan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Leopards avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
