Baseball Game Preview: IC Catholic Prep Knights vs. Aurora Central Catholic Chargers

For the second straight game, IC Catholic Prep will face off against Aurora Central Catholic. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Chargers at 4:30 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for IC Catholic Prep's offense. They came up short against Aurora Central Catholic on Monday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Aurora Central Catholic's part, they let Aidan Crisci and Leo Corral run wild. Crisci went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Corral went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Crisci has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Raul Gomez, Jr, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

The victory (which was Aurora Central Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for IC Catholic Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
