Baseball Recap: Curry Victorious

While Curry's win against Berry wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Curry Yellowjackets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Berry Wildcats on Monday, sneaking past 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Blanton Gillespie was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Argent, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Curry's record now sits at 5-6. As for Berry, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Coming up, Curry will head out on the road to face off against Fayette County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berry, they will welcome Phillips at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berry is facing Phillips at the right time seeing as Phillips is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
