The Orange Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Santa Ana Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Orange made up a huge gap compared to their last game against La Quinta, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Orange blew past La Quinta 19-11 on Monday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Scarlett Poitra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Poitra was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dalilah Solorio was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Chloe Vasquez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Orange hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Quinta struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Santa Ana Valley earned a 15-11 win over Loara on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
The team relied heavily on Janelle Coronel, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Yareli Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Santa Ana Valley's record now sits at 5-2. As for Orange, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Orange hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Santa Ana Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .420. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Orange came up short against Santa Ana Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 17-12. Can Orange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
