Basketball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. King & Queen Central Royal Tigers

The Charles City Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. King & Queen Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Charles City, who comes in off a win.

Charles City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over Windsor on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, King & Queen Central took a blow against Northumberland on Friday, falling 80-37. The contest marked the Royal Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Charles City will need focus on slowing down Gerard Hill, one of several King & Queen Central players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 14 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 37.8% of King & Queen Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Ayden Gibson was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

King & Queen Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Charles City, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Charles City was able to grind out a solid win over King & Queen Central when the teams last played back in February, winning 67-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charles City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
