Basketball Recap: Isaiah Campbell-Finch Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jesuit

Tampa Catholic had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Jesuit on Friday. The Tampa Catholic Crusaders blew past the Jesuit Tigers 79-58. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Tampa Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Campbell-Finch led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. That's the most points Campbell-Finch has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was K.J. Morgan, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.

Campbell-Finch wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Tampa Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jesuit only racked up 11 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Jesuit lost, don't look at Tyler Caouette. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 10 on his way to 20 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Flach, who posted ten points.

Tampa Catholic's record now sits at 9-7. As for Jesuit, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Tampa Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-65 win against St. Petersburg on the 11th. As for Jesuit, they will face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
