The Panguitch Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wayne Badgers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Panguitch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.2 runs per game this season.

While Panguitch didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Monticello get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brooklyn Harland made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Harland was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Panguitch let Samantha Larsen and Kadee Harland run wild. Larsen went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs, while Harland scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Hailee Yadley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Panguitch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 22-5 to Altamont.

Panguitch has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Panguitch beat Wayne 25-20 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
