Football Recap: Rancocas Valley Red Devils vs. Washington Township Minutemen

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rancocas Valley can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 44-26 to the Washington Township Minutemen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Minutemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-17 back in October.

Sayvien Adams threw for 175 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes. Andre Byrdsong was his top target, picking up 160 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground, Jameer Bellamy rushed for 59 yards and one score.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington Township to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Osborn, who rushed for 82 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 82 rushing yards gave Osborn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Robinson, who rushed for 72 yards and one score.

Rancocas Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Washington Township, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Rancocas Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washington Township, they will square off against Old Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Minutemen's offense will have their work cut out for them.
