The matchup between Holy Cross and Boone County on Monday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. Holy Cross had just enough and edged out Boone County 10-9. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Sam Addington and David Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Addington tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Wilson pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. At the plate, Addington went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Wilson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That RBI marked the first that Addington brought in this season.

In other batting news, Derric Mullen was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Neal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win got Holy Cross back to even at 2-2. As for Boone County, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Holy Cross will host Newport Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boone County, they are taking a road trip to face off against St. Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Henry has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something Boone County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
