Softball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Space Coast who claimed the real prize. The Tigers fell 7-4 to the Vipers. The Tigers have struggled against the Vipers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Abigail Crane made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Camille Keys, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Cocoa's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Space Coast, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cocoa will face off against Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Space Coast, they will head out to take on Merritt Island Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Vipers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 14 runs per game this season.
