Softball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

If Lamar was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of New Heights Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 7-0 to the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Lamar has already played their next match, a 9-7 win against Butler on the 11th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 victory against West County on the 11th.
