Football Recap: Trenton Starts Season with Victory Against Bell + How To Watch

Trenton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 victory over the Bell Bulldogs on Friday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 34-24 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Trenton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brant Bivens led the charge by picking up 117 receiving yards and one score. Those 117 receiving yards gave Bivens a new career-high. Wyatt Vanlandingham got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Trenton proved: they limited Bell to a paltry 1.9 yards per carry. While three picked up at least two total tackles, Bivens stood above the rest. He picked up 117 receiving yards and one TD. Trenton's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.

Coming up, Trenton will head out on the road to face off against Dixie County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Bell, they will host Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
