Softball Game Preview: Castle Rock Rockets vs. King's Way Christian Knights

For the second straight game, Castle Rock will face off against King's Way Christian. The Rockets will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Castle Rock comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Castle Rock's offense. They fell 5-0 to King's Way Christian on Tuesday.

For King's Way Christian's part, the result came thanks to Olivia Brewer's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Brewer.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grace Wickum, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Lewis, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

King's Way Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Castle Rock's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for King's Way Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
