Softball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Steele Comets

Avon Lake hasn't had much luck against Steele recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Shoremen are taking a road trip to challenge the Comets at 4:45 p.m. Avon Lake has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Avon Lake came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-3 to Avon.

Sammy Cracas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Steele didn't have quite enough to beat North Ridgeville on Wednesday and fell 2-1. The Comets have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Avon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Steele, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Avon Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Steele in their previous meeting on Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shoremen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
