Softball Recap: Randolph County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wadley last Monday, Randolph County came back down to earth. The Randolph County Tigers lost 9-0 to the Woodland Bobcats on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Bobcats since March 3, 2018.

With the defeat, Randolph County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.67 hits in those games compared to only 4.63 in the others. As for Woodland, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Randolph County Tigers face off against Saks Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph County is facing Saks at the right time seeing as Saks is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Woodland, they will be playing at home against Wadley at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
